Hii fellas, I understand WH are preparing a bid of 42m sterling for LACAZETTE, this is around 50 m euros, the bid has not yet gone in, BUT could be made official anytime, This would be surprising! BUT there you are, IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - Interest in Lyon's Lacazette from Newcastle and Inter (who would struggle to fund a move) has long gone. Additionally, whilst Guy Hillion has continued to extol his virtues but there is no support whatesoever from the folks in London for a bid at this time - so prior interest of Chelsea has gone. Barcelona, Juventus and Spurs have had him watched toward the end of the season but Barcelona has another solution in mind and will not be following up, Juventus have taken it no further but are expected to return with an offer after losing out on another player. Spurs also their sights set on someone else.

West Ham enquired after Lacazette's availability and are certainly interested as long as his wage demands are not too high - as they will have the money for transfers but are very much constrained over wages. West Ham have made it clear that they will what they see is a very good fee but will not over pay on the transfer - but Lyon will look for at least €10M more for a sale to an English side as they know what they can expect from elsewhere. Regardless of that, West Ham has submitted two offers for Lacazette that have not interested Lyon.

He is not first or second choise for PSG but they could potentially turn to him. Lyon are very difficult to negotiate with and they may well see an Gallic shrug in response to any initial bids. Lacazette wants English money and Champions League or Juventus, but two French players who have played in England are providing advice that it is not essential immediately to have Champions League. If a price can be agreed, then West Ham has the opportunity to complete the transfer unless another English side with Champions League on offer steps in. Arsenal may turn to him if they cannot get their first choice - but may baulk at the money. Lacazette certainly remains of interest to Atletico Madrid and don't rule out them putting an offer on the table - but afain, he is not their preferred option.}

if this Is true not only are we over paying, but we are letting it drag on and on same with tore surely it's time to look at other targets now, of if they do pull it off and he joins scores 20 goals fires us into CL places I'll be the first to admit happily that I was wrong.

£42m? Wow. We are certainly determined to get this guy? I hear Van Persie is being released by Fenerbahce. If he is able to produce ANYTHING LIKE what he used to he may be worth a punt, but what are his wage demands and how interested and how fit is he?
As for strikers, surely (as much as I like Lacazette) it makes more sense to bid £25m for slimani and go get Braithwaite or Ben Yedder (another striker with loads of pace) .
As for Besiktas and the Tore, Hutchinson saga, is that STILL ongoing or have we now pulled out and changed direction?

Thanks REDROBBO, I never saw that. what's the BOBBY with TORE! If you had to recruit for the hammers, which two strikers would you be making a serious play for cause I feel Lacazette at 50m euro's is far too much. I like Gomez, but, we already have a tall player like him in AC. I really like Ben Yedder and Slimani (shed loads of pace between them) and as we all saw last year, pace in the premier league frightens defences. Then there is Janssen who apparently has fallen in love with SPUDS. Carlos Bacca who Napoli want if Higuain leaves. Martin Braithwaite who we were linked to and has now gone quiet, to name a few. Then there is recent link with Van persie!

I think lacazette is becoming a joke I hope we don't get him, we should go all out for SLIMANI WITHOUT QUESTION and I think we should keep sakho and Carroll and concentrate on a right back so Antonio can play on the wing where he is so dangerous, SLIMANI is what we need!

if it was me I'd get Braithwaite in as soon as possible then take a good run at bacca, would both be very good signings and wouldn't great the bank either how about you phil who would you like to see us get?

Hi REDROBBO

Presonally, I would have to agree with you and Bacca and Braithwaite would be great additions, AND, they wouldn't break the bank! Slimani would be a great addition but I have a feeling (despite the rumours of us having tabled bids for lots of strikers) that DGS have identified their targets and are trying their hardest to get the main target which still seems to be LACAZETTE!

I would also have liked Ben Yedder but he's apparently heavily linked with Seville.

I watched Slimani play in Portugal in Feb this year.
Not worth the money in my opinion! A 15m player at best.
